My personal opinion based on what I’ve read from Walter Isaacson’s biography on Steve.

Steve Jobs was well known at Apple for being a perfectionist and loving simplicity. He put a lot of time and effort into each product Apple released, he would push dates back so the Apple engineers could change something that others thought was pointless but to Steve, it was a very big deal.

Steve passed away in 2011, around the time the iPhone 4S was released.

Before the iPhone 5 was released in 2012, it put a lot of pressure on the Apple team since it was the first product after Steve had died.

Steve probably had plans written down for the iPhone 5 and 5S, but I don’t think he would be happy with the newer Apple products since then for example iPhone 6, Macbook Pro with touch bar, Force touch, Apple Pencil and more.

Steve hated the idea of having to use a stylus and the Apple Pencil is technically a stylus. He probably wouldn’t of approved of the different series of iPad’s, when he was alive, there was only the standard iPad’s – maybe he helped with the plans for the iPad mini – now, there is; iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad Pro 12 inch and iPad Pro 9.7 inch. The most Steve would probably approve of is two different iPad’s, most likely a standard sized iPad and the iPad mini.

Most Apple products are dropping their ports, the Macbooks have only a USB-C port and a port for headphones, which means customers have to purchase an adapter for an additional cost. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have dropped the headphone port so everything has to go through the lightening port but it comes with an adapter. I think Steve would of liked the idea of removing ports to make the products slimmer.

I think Steve would have been angry about the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus because of the bending situation but thankfully the iPhone 6S/ Plus fixed this issue.

I know the touch bar on the new Macbook Pro’s would have been a No No from Steve because of how complicated it looks and it makes the Macbook like ugly (my personal opinion).

The Force Touch feature – on the new products, if you lightly hold an icon, more opinions will appear – would have been rejected by Steve because it would of ruined the simplicity of the iOS.

This article is based on my personal opinions after reading the Walter Isaacon book “Steve Jobs”.
