Recently I have been reading On the shortness of life by Seneca and within the first two pages, I got the message and started to think.

You waste a large amount of your life chasing useless things, then complain that life is too short. People spend their whole adult life chasing money so they can live their life later. I used to think like that, its a waste of a life. Working too many hours so you can earn a “living” and not live.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t work because you should, if you are able to but do not forget to live. Enjoy yourself.

So many people want loads of money — not for the freedom it brings but to buy things to show off with on social media and stroke their own ego. We have all seen it, the Instagram account that takes other users pictures and posts it as their own. Don’t waste the limited time you have trying to impress other people, the time wasted will catch up with you.

From birth to your 18 — even that’s a push — is when I personally think you fully live your life without wasting it. You have fun, socialise, make friends and live with no fear of the real world. But as soon as you hit 18 and become an adult in the worlds eyes, you are forced into a career, made to settle down and try to live up to peoples — probably your parents — expectations, without thinking of yourself.

Be selfish with your life

How do you want to live your life?

Are you happy with your career?

Are you happy with your partner?

Are you happy with yourself?

However you answer those questions, make sure you are being truthful to yourself.

Do not let death make you realise you wasted your life, live before its too late!

I hope this helps, let me know what you think in the comments!

Thank you.

See you next time,

JB!
